Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

Any contact form on this website (embeded Cognito Forms, Woocommerce or Enfold theme forms) keep your personal information on file. All data is encrypted and kept private and safe.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Lesson Policies
A. ARCADIA ACADEMY OF MUSIC POLICIES:

Cancellation Policy: Arcadia must be notified by no later than 8:00pm on the day prior to a scheduled lesson. Doctor’s note is required, in all other situations. Failure to provide a doctor’s note will result in the loss of the lesson for that day. If a student cancels more than once in a month, those lessons will be lost unless a doctor’s note is provided.
Missed Lessons Policy: Missed lessons must be made up within three months. If those lessons are not made up within the three (3) month period, those lessons will be null and void.
Cancelled Missed Lessons Policy: Cancelled missed lessons will not be rescheduled.
Inclement Weather Policy: In severe weather conditions, Arcadia will make the decision of whether or not to cancel all lessons and close the school for the day. Parents are to call the school to find out if their child has a scheduled lesson. Does not apply to online lessons.
Calendar Policy: An Arcadia calendar comprises 48 weeks which equates to four (4) lessons per month. The fifth lesson is titled a Professional Development Day (PDD), which will occur four (4) times yearly. No regular lessons will be conducted on Professional Development days.
Holidays Policy: A substitute lesson will be given for missed lessons that fall on holidays such as Family Day, Good Friday, Christmas Day, and New Years Day. Such lessons will be made up within a month of the holiday.
Special Promotions: Missed lessons, due to parent/student cancellation, during a promotion or gift certificate scenario will not be made up.
Termination of Lessons Policy: Clients must advise Arcadia in writing, two weeks before the last day of the committed month, of any request to discontinue further lessons. Otherwise, the obligation of fees due on the 1st of the month remains the same.
Refund Policy: No refunds will be given for online lessons at this time. Lessons will be credited for up to one year.

B: ARCADIA ACADEMY OF MUSIC AGREES TO:

Reserve teaching facilities for scheduled times based on the Arcadia calendar.
Teach the enrolled student in accordance with grade standards.
Encourage student participation in Arcadia Academy of Music sponsored events.
Find another qualified instructor as a substitute in the absence of an instructor due to illness or otherwise.
Provide an extra lesson if adequate notice of a cancelled lesson is not provided, or a substitute instructor is unavailable.

C. LESSON RATE AND PAYMENT OPTIONS:

Current lesson rate is $115.00/month for all instruments except for Vocal which is $130/month, and will be paid based on the payment disclosed in the enrollment form.
NSF/Declined Policy: A $25.00 service charge will be applied to any NSF cheque or any declined pre-authorized credit card/debit payment.
Monthly Payments: Parents\Client who choose to pay monthly will be subject to automatic renewal unless parents\clients provide ample notice of termination of lessons. See Termination of Lessons Policy. These monthly payments must be accompanied with 12 post-dated cheques or pre-authorized credit card/debit payments.
Full Year in Advance Payment: Payment for one full year in advance, will receive a 10% discount. Does not apply to online lessons.
Six Months in Advance Payment: Payment for six months in advance, will receive a 6% discount. Does not apply to online lessons.
Three Months in Advance Payment: Payment for three months in advance, will receive a 3% discount.
Family discounts are available. Please inquire at the front desk for more information. Does not apply to online lessons.
All Fees are subject to change and are non-refundable.
